In 1992, a group of forward-thinking maintenance and reliability professionals from 18 companies came together to form the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP). One year later saw the launch of their inaugural Annual Conference in Nashville – an event that brought industry leaders and innovators together with one goal: exchanging new ideas, discovering cutting edge tools and connecting through networking.

Ten years after formation, SMRP members set the benchmark for excellence in maintenance and reliability with Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. This ground-breaking initiative was launched at an annual conference held in Cleveland, Ohio – 2000 being its inaugural year of the CMRP accreditation by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

SMRP has been the maintenance and reliability go-to for more than three decades, with a global reach that now extends to over sixty nations across six continents. Thousands of individuals from all walks of life have joined their ranks, reaching number totals in excess of seven thousand members. Alongside these numbers are also an impressive 5k+ CMRP’s ,CMRT’s & CAMAs available worldwide as leading practitioners ready to take on any project!
